I stumbled upon Imm Thai NYC restaurant while trying to find a place for lunch while on my way to the Brooklyn Bridge. I didn't know what to expect, but I loved the neutral, calming decor and the excellent music. The staff was chill but very attentive and accommodating. I ordered the Thai Wonton Noodle Soup and loved every bite. The subtle broth paired well with the flavorful wontons and roasted pork. This is a new favorite spot and I can't wait to visit again!
Came here last minute for dinner with friends! It's a quaint spot right off the Fulton subway. The menu highlighted some of the history of Thai food which was a great added touch! We got the shrimp dumplings, pad thai, choo chee pla, and green curry! The choo chee pla was my favorite! It was a cod fish, and it was a unique style that I have never had. The green curry was also delicious. If you're looking for a cozy spot to eat, this is for you. A great time!
Stopped by on a Wednesday night with some friends. We didn't have a reservation but got seated immediately. It was pretty crowded, so we might have just gotten lucky. We ordered the shrimp dumplings, choo chee pla, pad thai, and green curry. The highlight was definitely the choo chee pla! Everything else was great as well. Would definitely come back!
I came here back in June while out with my niece in the city. It's a nice small intimate spot. The service was very kind and welcoming. I'm only giving 4 stars because I wasn't a huge fan of the roasted chicken. It just wasn't to my liking. I was really excited to try the mango sticky rice and I wasn't disappointed, it was really good!
My friend and I came here at 12:30 on a Sunday. I specifically chose this place to go for the different flavored coconut puddings. However, they weren't available so I'm super disappointed. Food was decent and service was relaxed on a Sunday afternoon. My friend got the honey ribs with ginger and the garlic oyster sauce with chicken while I got the pad crab curry which is limited to 3 orders a day. I tried the sauce on the ribs and it was very good and the meat on the ribs were fall off the bone. My friend even ate the sauce with his leftover rice. My crab curry was kind of bland, wish there was an option to add spice to it, and just felt like a lot more egg than crab. For dinner, there are better options for the price. The lunch special seems very good though.
I've been walking past Imm Thai ever since it opened, telling myself one day I'll try it.. well, tonight I finally had the excuse! I swung by around 6:30 on a weeknight, and it was fairly quiet, allowing me my pick of tables. I was seated immediately and given a menu. All the options looked delicious, but I was craving a pad thai, which I paired with a glass of wine since it was happy hour. The portion was larger than I expected for the price, and the shrimp were prepared very well. I thought the glass noodles were a fun twist! Service was very friendly and attentive, and my meal was freshly made to order. Will definitely return the next time I have an opportunity!
Imm Thai is a new restaurant that specializes in tom yum items and other Thai comfort food! Be sure to stop by and make sure to order some of their tasty tom yum dishes! What we ordered: - Seafood tom yum noodle creamy soup - Yum Seafood salad - Crispy pork rice bowl w/ tom yum sauce - Roasted chicken over rice - Shrimp dumplings - Southern Thai chicken - Thai tea - Butterfly tea lemonade My standout dishes were the tom yum noodle soup and the seafood salad. The tom yum soup has the perfect mix of sour and salty in the broth, and the seafood salad was both salty and refreshing with their anchovy lime dressing and came with a generous amount of mixed seafood. Their chicken is also really tender and flavorful and worth trying! The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the Thai Iced Tea which tasted like it had no sugar/ sweetness.
I can't get over this meal and neither can my friend! We needed a quick meal in the area, and this one caught our eyes. I thought the place was actually fast food style because of the small size, but it was actually a dine-in. You are able to change your spice levels here! I got the Seafood Tom Yum Noodle Creamy Soup ($15) with egg noodle. They also offer rice noodle. Upon sipping the soup, I felt immediately attacked by the pungent broth! It was very sour, yet spicy, yet also slightly sweet. It was a whole range of flavors that my normally bland taste palette was not used to. I didn't like it at first, but after having with the noodles, I started adjusting to the unique mixture the more I ate. I never had Tom Yum before, and even with the coconut milk used, the broth still remains to be pretty clear tasting, which is great to prevent it from being heavy. The noodles are typical, but the seafood will draw your interest. They give such a nice diverse amount, with fish, mussels, squid, you name it! All were so delicious, especially when coupled with the broth! By the end, our broth was basically gone. For offering such a complex delicious broth that grows on you, I highly recommend their noodle soups here!
Ordered take out from this place, it's pretty new on Nassau St, in between Fulton and John, which sadly is the street take out places go to die. One great thing about this place is it is Unique. We already have like 4 Thai places in a 5 block radius that serve the same food. This place is completely different and that's what's great about it. One of their main noodle dishes the Mee Hang is actually something we used to get 'off-menu' at Bennies Thai, when it was still around. It's just a great simple dry noodle dish, and this place does a great job with it. We also ordered a couple of Apps. The Golden Honey chicken was spot on, tasted great, nice crisp and good flavor. The Shrimp Dumplings were ok. Kind of weird, they put a whole shrimp on top of some meat dumpling filling and wrap it in a wonton wrapper. They didn't taste bad, but their texture and execution was just a little off. The last thing I ordered was the Yum Crispy Pork Salad. This was pretty dope. Two small criticisms, really not quite enough salad relative to Pork, it was like a Lot of crisp pork, which basically tasted like good Chicharonnes, and everything was in a fish sauce dressing. That would be the second minor criticism, because there wasn't as much of a salad base, it was a bit too much sauce. Easy things to fix, a few less pieces of pork, another handful of lettuce and then this salad is perfect. I hope this place sticks around, which is why I am giving it 5 stars. It's probably a 4 star spot right now, but with minor improvements, easily can earn a 5 star rating. But I want people to go here so they can stay in business, because it's refreshing to have a Thai place in the area that doesn't just serve the same old stuff. Anyways, hope this was helpful. Order and enjoy!
